in the morning of 23th august，the signing ceremony of jointly developing nh40 (cg231) light airplane protocol between chongqing general aviation industry group co., ltd (“cgag” for short) and nanjing university of aeronautics and astronautics (“nuaa” for short) was held in nuaa.

the general manager of cme and chairman of cgag huang yong, and the principal of nuaa nie hong attended the ceremony. the gm of cgag gong wei, the vgm wu jisen, and the vice principal of nuaa xu xiwu, director of nuaa science and technology department sun yongrong, vice director kong xianghao, head of the nuaa aviation and aeronautics college xia pinqi, and the project leader yao weixing attended the activity as well.

mr. yao weixing introduced the project and the cooperate content. mr. xia pinqi and mr. wu jisen signed on the protocol on behalf of the two parties.

mr. huang yong and mr. nie hong delivered speeches on the ceremony. they fully praised the project with a significant meaning in university-industry cooperation, general aviation industry development and talents training. according to the agreement, both sides will follow the principles of resource sharing, advantages complementing, equality and mutual benefit and win-win, and make sure to complete the project on schedule.

the two parties will cooperate with their advanced resource in the research and development of light airplane as well as the industrialization. they will jointly develop a four-seat light aircraft, named nh40 (cg231), aiming to the future general aviation training and private training market. the airplane design will be in accordance with the caac airworthiness standard and the design standard agreed by both sides. the first airplane prototype is planned to be assembled in june 2017. till june 2019, the industrialized cg231 will acquire its tc and pc, and be oriented to the market. it will fill in the type blank of our national independent research and development of light aircraft, and significantly promote our national general aviation industrialization, once this airplane is developed successfully.

nuaa is one of those colleges that are established by ourselves in the new era of china, and the aviation and aeronautics college is the pillar institute, with abundant aircraft r&d experience, numerous experts and test facilities. it owns light general aviation technology collaborative innovation center of universities of jiangsu province, and advanced general aviation technology collaborative innovation center under industry and information technology ministry.

cgag is a state owned general aviation industry group, including light airplane, helicopter and other aircraft’s investment, and the r&d, manufacture, sale, maintenance & consultation, flight training and service of aviation components. it sets up its own technique center, owns 5 domestic subsidiaries, and enstrom helicopter company abroad. cgag has established an industry base in chongqing liangjiang new district, basically finished its industry chain layout covering the development, manufacturing, sales, maintenance, training, and operation of aircraft, with the capacity and qualification of aircraft design, manufacturing, airworthiness forensics, and customer service. light airplane is the prioritized developing type in cgag’s plan.
